Those words impressed me a lot, but I was used to being impressed by that woman. From that moment on I swore not to separate from her for ever.
Many times I have cursed that following day. It happened at the sunset when we had just left the last village of Castilla behind; a gang of way-men assaulted us asking us for our money. Anne didn't want to give them the little ammount she had got with her becase it had a sentimental value, so one of the bandits stabbed her stomach with a knife.
The bandit , horrified by the blood, ran away with the rest of his criminal mates.

I rushed towards her , following the cries of pain that were coming out from her throat; I took her head with my hands, as she was falling onto the floor just another bitter, soft cry came out from her mouth before fainting.
